Picture of Walter

Hey there. I'm Walter: student, researcher, engineer, and procrastinator. Unfortunately, only one of those top-level domains (TLDs) were available when I was in the market for a website.

I work for NASA Ames Research Center in the Intelligent Systems division's Robust Software Engineering group, and I'm a PhD student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, I was a researcher at the NSF Center for Space, High-Performance, and Resilient Computing (SHREC).

My research interests include virtualization technologies for spacecraft, distributed architectures, software reliability, and heterogeneous embedded computing. Beyond that, I also enjoy learning about any interesting problems in computing, especially those in the world of programming languages, formal methods, free-and-open-source software, and operating systems design.

This website is mainly a place to share my contact info and personal background, but I also plan to use it as a public-facing outlet to talk about things, should I suddenly have views and/or opinions.
